Soprano Lisa Moffat currently works with Patricia MacMahon, after graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) whith a Post Graduate Diploma, studying with Barbara Robotham. There she enjoyed taking part in the operas, recitals and competitions, and won both an Eva Turner Scholarship and the Marjorie Squires Bursary.

Lisa was born in Paisley and brought up in Aberdeenshire where she began singing at the age of 8 with Alice Dennis and the local Junior Choir at Haddo. She enjoyed taking part in musicals, plays and operas with Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society (HHCOS), and often sang solos in the Christmas Carol concerts and operas.

She graduated from Huddersfield University in 2004 with a BMus(Hons), and returned to the North east of Scotland where she taught singing privately, and at Gordonstoun for 2 years, while also taking rehearsals for the Haddo Junior Choir, and occasionally the choral society.

She has built a very varied repertoire as a soloist in opera, choral music and in recitals. Operatic roles include Varvara Katya Kabanova, Le Feu L'enfant et les Sortileges, both at the RNCM, Lola Cavalleria Rusticana, Ida Die Fledermaus (Directed by Peter Mulloy) both with HHCOS, Barbarina The Marriage of Figaro touring with English Pocket Opera Company which included the Ryedale Festival with the Goldberg Ensemble conducted by Malcolm Layfield.

She has enjoyed many oratorio appearences with Choral Societies in northern England and Scotland, performing works such as Mozart's Mass in C minor, Handel's Messiah, Brahm's Deutche Requiem, Beethoven's Mass in C, Haydn's Nelson Mass and Serenade to Music by Vaughan Williams.

Singing at venues such as the Usher Hall, Perth Concert Hall, Cardiff Millenium Centre and Horseguards Parade, she has appeared at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and Mozart and Schubert Chamber Music Festivals at the RNCM. She has sung works such as Elizabeth Maconchy's Sun, Moon and Stars, Copland's Old American Songs (with the visiting Canadian Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival), and more recently in charity concerts of popular opera arias with the Orchestra of the bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Portsmouth and Collingwood, and concerts with the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Scotland.
These concerts included celebrations for The Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary in Ripon Cathedral, while another raised over £13,000 for Help for Heroes, organised by the Rotary Club of Elgin.

Lisa has been including contemporary music in her recitals for some time, but has also premiered Kenneth Hesketh's Small Tales, tall tales with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra's new music ensemble 10/10, and collaborating with Daniel Kidane for the premier of his piece Epitaph, written for soprano and ensemble.
