Singing Lessons

and Performance Coaching

Let me help you become the performer you want to be, and sing with your best voice

I teach from my home studio which is fully equipped with an electric piano, lots of music, and plenty of space to allow us to work together.

With 20 years teaching experience privately and in schools, I aim to help everyone regardless of age or experience to improve their technique and performance to reach their goals.

I have experience with all levels from those who wish to sing for fun and improve their choral/church singing, up to students entering the Musical Theatre profession and professional singers regularly performing.

Some singer songwriters also choose to bring along their guitar or instrument to work on their own compositions, particularly to practice performing while playing.

I work with pupils to:

  • teach them about their voice and anatomy

  • improve technique

  • improve range

  • make storytelling and interpretation at the heart of the performance

  • make singing feel easy and instinctive

  • improve performance confidence

  • help guide their own compositions and communication choices when working with singer-songwriters

  • prepare for exams. My pupils have entered and had success in all school exams and ABRSM up to diploma level.

  • Sing confidently in church choir, or choral music

We work on a range of repertoire that plays to both the strengths of that pupil, and challenges them with new skills that will help develop their voice and their performance skills. This may include different styles, eras of music, or languages.

Having worked as a performer, I am able to assist and guide performers to act and embody their music, making their performance natural to them. We work on the psychology of performance, confidence, interpretation, and individual performance presentation.

I recommend my students have regular singing lessons to get the full benefit of lessons, or you can choose to book a one-off 50 minute coaching to prepare you for your performance.

I am constantly training and learning to further my own skills and understanding, to stay up-to-date with recent scientific findings and modern teaching approaches. I recently qualified as a Vocal First Aider, training with Vocal Health Education to be able to assess and diagnose problems and treat them where I can, or refer on pupils to further professional help where appropriate.

This means I can further support my students, so that I may point them in the direction of something they might benefit from.

“I have enjoyed my singing lessons with Lisa. She is helpful and kind. She really helped me with a solo I was singing for a show recently and I think I did better than I would have if she hadn’t taught me. She uses the piano to help me with singing in tune and I think she’s a very good teacher.”

Junior pupil C, 2025

“Lisa has been a wonderful singing teacher for my daughter. She is kind and flexible in her approach, and she is obviously very skilled at what she does. I have seen a significant improvement in my daughter’s skill and confidence in a short space of time. I would highly recommend singing lessons with Lisa.”
